NZ name their T20I WC squad , Williamson to lead
New Zealand have named their 15-member squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup 2024, scheduled to be played in West Indies and USA in June. Breakout performer Rachin Ravindra has been named into New Zealand’s squad for the mega event. Veterans Daryl Mitchell and Matt Henry have been added to the squad that will be led by immensely experienced Kane Williamson.
Other experienced players to have been included into the squad are Mitchell Santner, Ish Sodhi, Glenn Phillips, Mark Chapman and Michael Bracewell. Devon Conway, who was recently ruled out of the IPL, has been added to the squad. This would be the first T20I World Cup for Rachin Ravindra and Matt Henry.
New Zealand’s pace-bowling attack will see vastly experienced Trent Boult and Tim Southee leading the charge. Rachin Ravindra played the ODI World Cup last year for New Zealand, making headlines with his breathtaking performances.
"Rachin has made every post a winner in the past 12 months and it was exciting to see him continue that trajectory over the summer in the T20 format against Australia,” New Zealand coach Gary Stead said.
