IPL 2024: MI aim to stay alive as LSG eye second spot

Tuesday, 30-Apr-2024
News

Finding themselves in a hazardous situation, Mumbai Indians are in a must-win position in order to keep their playoffs chances alive. It will be another crucial outing for Mumbai Indians when they battle against Lucknow Super Giants in the 48th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Tuesday at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow.

Currently, Mumbai Indians find themselves languishing in the bottom spots of the points table with three wins from nine games. From here on, each encounter is a must-win for them to cement their playoffs chances. MI will go into this game on the back of two defeats on the trot in their last two games.

LSG, in the meantime, are on the fifth place in the points table and would hope to lift themselves from mid-table conundrum. There is huge nuances between LSG and MI's campaign this season. LSG have had a smooth season so far, having clinched five victories from their nine encounters. They will get into this game on the back of a defeat in their last encounter. But, positively, they have been boosted by the availability of young pacer Mayank Yadav. Amid the home advantage, LSG would aim for a win against struggling MI.
