India were given a heavy defeat by Australia in the third and final ODI on Wednesday at Rajkot. Australia beat India by (66) runs in the final game to gather confidence ahead of the ODI World Cup which is just a week away. Though, India lost the match but they have had great performances from their players which is the biggest positive for the team ahead of the World Cup. India’s leading bowler Jasprit Bumrah too has been in great touch since making his return to the team after recovering from injury. In the third ODI, Jasprit Bumrah had returned with three wickets which is a big impetus to the team ahead of the World Cup. Meanwhile, Skipper Rohit Sharma was full of praise for Bumrah.

“I’m pretty happy, more importantly how he feels body-wise, and body-wise I don’t see any issues because he has got so much skill, one bad game can happen to anyone. How he feels mentally and body-wise is key for us and he is looking good in both those aspects,” said Rohit Sharma during post-match presentation.

India have been hit by a major setback which is the injury to all-rounder Axar Patel who is yet to make full recovery from his injury that he suffered during Asia Cup. However, R Ashwin has come up with terrific spell in the absence of Axar Patel. While Rohit Sharma, speaking on team for the World Cup, said that they know where they are heading.

“When we talk about the fifteen, we are very clear on what we want and who are the guys who are going to do the job for us. We’re not confused. We know exactly where we are heading as a team,” said Rohit.
