Sri Lanka decimate England, bowl them out for (156)
Sri Lanka bowled out England for the paltry of (156) in (33.2) overs in their World Cup match on Thursday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. After having a little good partnership from Jonny Bairstow and David Malan who both scored (30) and (28) respectively, England started to lose their wickets with Jos Buttler, Joe Root and Liam Livingstone losing their wickets for the scores of (8), (3) and (1) respectively. Amid the rapid fall of wickets, Ben Stokes provided some stability with his 43-run knock to take the team to the total of (156). It’s been really surprising to see England having the low-key outings. For Sri Lanka, Lahiru Kumara claimed three wickets while Angelo Mathews and Kasun Rajitha returned with two wickets each. Maheesh Theekshana chipped in with one wicket to bowl out England really quick. Sri Lanka veteran Angelo Mathews made a vital impact upon his return to the side with his two wickets as Sri Lanka kept England at bay from getting runs. Still, England managed to muster a fighting total of (156).
