IND-W vs AUS-W 2nd T20I: India Women eye series-clinching win
The DY Patil Sports Academy on Friday witnessed a jubilant atmosphere as the Indian Women's team sealed the win over Australia Women with nine wickets in hand in the first T20I match of the three-match series. The comprehensive victory served as a statement of the team's capabilities and determination. Both teams are now set to square off against each other in the second T20I match of the three-match series on Saturday at the same venue.
India would now hope to produce another all-round performance to seal the series win against Australia. Indian Women in the first game came all guns blazing to batter Australia Women in the first game to take 1-0 lead. Ahead of this series, India had faced disappointing times against Australia Women after being whitewashed in the three-match ODI series.
In the first match, India came out with stellar performances from both batters and bowlers. India had bowled out Australia for 141 with the help of rookie pacer Titas Sadhu returning with four wickets. India, in their chase, got off to a great start with Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma scoring (54) and (64) respectively to take the team over the line. This also showed India’s collective strength with the bowlers, batswomen, and fielders working in tandem, showcasing a well-rounded team effort. India would now hope to seal the series win going into this match.
