In a thrilling encounter, India registered a dominant win against Afghanistan in the second T20I on Sunday at Holkar Stadium in Indore, securing a 2-0 lead in the three-match series. India’s young brigade again showcased an impressive display of batting prowess with Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shivam Dube playing their instrumental roles in India's success. Chasing the total of 172, India got off to a stellar start with Yashasvi Jaiswal leading the attack. Skipper Rohit Sharma couldn’t open his account, losing his wicket for golden duck.
The star of the game was Yashasvi Jaiswal with his outstanding innings. After the wicket of Rohit Sharma, Jaiswal (68) stitched a 57-run partnership alongside Virat Kohli (29) to bring India back on track. Jaiswal exhibited sublime shots and resilience against the Afghan bowlers.
Down the order, Dube, who had taken India over the line in the first game, again anchored India’s innings to victory with his 63-run knock unbeaten. Early on, Afghanistan deciding to bat, posted a total of (172) in (20) overs on the back of Gulbadin Naib’s 57-run knock. Handy contributions from Najibullah Zadrana (23) and Karim Janat (20) lifted the team a bit. With this win, India have secured the series win against Afghanistan.
