IPL 2024: KKR bounce back to down DC

Bouncing back from their last defeat, Kolkata Knight Riders demonstrated an impressive all-round display to down Delhi Capitals by 7 wickets on Monday at Eden Gardens. Deciding to bat, DC were limited to 153/9 in (20) overs by KKR’s dominant bowling. Varun Chakaravarthy took three wickets followed by Vaibhav Arora and Harshit Rana returning with two scalps each. 

DC, however raced to (153), with Kuldeep Yadav top-scoring with 35. Mitchell Starc, missing in the last game, took the crucial wicket of young talent Jake Fraser-McGurk. Although, Starc remained quite expensive, going for (43) runs from his three overs. 

Chasing the target, Kolkata Knight Riders eased to victory with seven wickets in hand and (21) balls to spare. KKR opener Phil Salt gave the team an explosive start, hitting (68) off (33). In the middle-order, skipper Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer remained unbeaten on (33) and (26) respectively, taking the side to 157/3 in (16.3) overs. With this win, KKR sit on the second spot in the points table.
