Sri Lanka name squad for ODIs against India, Charith Asalanka to lead
Charith Asalanka has replaced Kusal Mendis to take over Sri Lanka’s ODI captaincy ahead of the three-match series against India beginning Friday (2nd August). Sri Lanka on Tuesday named a 16-player squad for the ODI series against India.
Earlier, Asalanka had been named Sri Lanka’s T20I skipper after regular skipper Wanindu Hasaranga resigned from captaincy following Sri Lanka’s terrible outing at the T20I World Cup 2024. Nishan Madushka has been included into Sri Lanka’s ODI squad following his dazzling performances in Tests. Akila Dananjaya and Chamika Karunaratne have also received calls.
