"Modern-day greats figure out their own path": Rohit Sharma backs Virat Kohli
Addressing the press conference ahead of the Boxing Day Test match against Australia, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma backed Indian batting legend Virat Kohli, who has faced challenging times in the last two matches of the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, to find his form back.
Kohli has been short of runs in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy, and moreover he hasn't looked threatening at any stage in the last two matches.
In his past innings, Kohli has fallen prey to the deliveries that are outside off-stump. His struggle to cope with the challenge has been incredibly concerning not only for the team but for him too. However, Rohit has backed Kohli by saying that the latter will find his form back.
"You only said he is a modern-day great. Modern-day greats will figure out their way or the path. Modern-day greats figure out their own path," Rohit Sharma said during the press conference.
India recently added Tanush Kotian to the Indian squad for the remaining two Test matches of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy as a replacement for veteran Ravichandaran Ashwin, who retired from international cricket at the end of third Test in Brisbane. Tanush has been powerfully impressive in the domestic cricket and on the back of that he has earned a maiden call-up.
“Tanush was here a month back and Kuldeep doesn't have a visa. And we wanted somebody to get here as quickly as possible. Tanush was the one who was ready and he played here. He has shown in the last two years what he has done in domestic cricket.
