South Africa name Laura Wolvaardt as interim skipper
Cricket South Africa have appointed opening batter Laura Wolvaardt as the interim skipper for South Africa Women’s cricket team. Laura Wolvaardt will be leading the team in the upcoming assignments against Pakistan and New Zealand. The appointment of Laura Wolvaardt has come in the wake of Sune Luus stepping down as captain. Nonetheless, Laura’s captaincy would be subject to reviewing after the upcoming assignments.
“It’s massive honor to be offered this position. It’s something that I have always aspired to do, having played in this team for a couple of years,” she sated in a CSA statement.
Talking about her stats, Laura has notched up 3193 ODI runs where she has three centuries and 29 centuries. Her T20I figures include 1079 runs. Laura Wolvaardt international debut for South Africa in 2016.
