Asia Cup 2023: All you need to know, teams, fixtures
The most anticipated Asia Cup 2023 is finally here as it is scheduled to commence from 30th August in Multan. Six teams will be participating in the tournament, namely, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Nepal. Nepal will be stepping into the tournament for the first time on the back of their victory in the ACC Men’s Premier League. The 16th edition of the tournament will be played in the ODI format. This time the tournament will be co-hosted by Sri Lanka and Pakistan in the hybrid model.
Four matches of the tournament will be held in Pakistan while rest of the nine matches will be played in Sri Lanka which will include the final as well. There are two groups in the tournament. In the group A, India, Pakistan and Nepal have been placed while in the group B, Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka are there. The opening match of the tournament will be played between Pakistan and Nepal on 30th August. Sri Lanka will be entering the tournament as defending champions after having lifted the title last year. Team India will start their Asia Cup campaign on 2nd September with the match against Pakistan.
