Asia Cup 2023: Clash for final between Sri Lanka and Pakistan

Sri Lanka will be squaring off against Pakistan on Thursday at R. Premadasa Stadium in the match of the ongoing Asia cup 2023. Both teams will be eying the berth in the final of the tournament where India are already sitting. The winner of this match will be in the final and play against India for the prestigious title. Both teams are coming off their defeats in their last matches as they both lost their last matches against same opponent. Pakistan lost their last match against India by (228) runs which was a massive defeat for them and a big reminder ahead of the ODI World Cup. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, had given a tough fight to India but India had the upper hand with 41-run victory.
Talking about the performance, Sri Lanka would hope for their top batters to make their impact after having failed to deliver in the last match against India. However, their bowling looks to be in good rhythm with spinners and pacers bowling in tandem. For Pakistan, they too would look to rectify their overall performance as they failed in all departments in the match against India. Their bowling, batting and fielding looked out of touch.
Sri Lanka Probable XI: Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne, Kusal Mendis (wk), Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Dhananjaya de Silva, Dasun Shanaka (c), Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Lahiru Kumara, Maheesh Theekshan
Pakistan XI: Mohammad Haris, Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam (c), Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Saud Shakeel, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Zaman Khan
