Asia Cup 2023: In case of rain spoiling SL vs PAK clash, who moves to final?
Sri Lanka and Pakistan will be coming against each other on Thursday in the Semi-Final of the ongoing Asia Cup at R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. This is the must-win battle for both teams to make their way into the final which is scheduled to be held on September 17 at R. Premadasa Stadium. Both teams would look to muster confidence after having suffered defeats in their last matches against India. Going into this clash, both teams would be eying the final spot where India have already reached. Pakistan will be without their pacers Haris Rauf and Naseem Shah due to injury concerns. However, Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Wasim Jr. will lead pace attack for Pakistan. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, would too hope for fine performance to make their dominance in the game.
The biggest concern in the ongoing Asia Cup has been the persistent rainfall that has disrupted the proceedings in the tournament almost in every game held in Colombo. In today’s match as well, there are higher chances of rain playing its part and halting the proceedings. But the prominent question remains as to who would make it to the final if today’s match between Sri Lanka and Pakistan is washed out. Sri Lanka will move to the final despite both teams having lost their last outings against India. Pakistan had suffered a huge defeat against India as they were beaten by India by (228) runs, however, Sri Lanka were handed 41-run defeat. So, if the match is washed out today, then both teams will share three points each but Sri Lanka would advance to the final due to having higher NRR.
