Bumrah’s devastating spell left Australia in big trouble at the end of day one of the ongoing first Test match in Perth on Friday. Jasprit Bumrah delivered a sensational spell that put Australia in deep trouble, leaving them on the backfoot at the end of the day. The plan for Bumrah worked perfectly fine as India successfully put pressure back on Australia at the close of the play on day one.

After India batted first and struggled to set a competitive total, managing just 150 runs due to a disappointing performance from their top-order batsmen, Bumrah’s brilliance with the ball turned the tide.

India’s batting innings was a tale of failure among their top order, as they were unable to get going against the Australian bowlers. Despite a few contributions, India’s fragile batting line-up crumbled under pressure, leaving the team with a small total. Josh Hazlewood led the charge for Australia, claiming four wickets, while other quicks Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc and Mitchell Marsh returned with two wickets each.

However, Bumrah's spell was extraordinary, taking four wickets. His skilful deliveries rattled the Australian top order, breaking through their defences with his monstrous pace. Australia's batting woes mirrored India's as they too struggled to build partnerships. By the end of the day, Australia found themselves in a precarious position, losing seven wickets for 67. Going into day two on Saturday, India would eye early wickets to keep Australia under pressure.
