‘Not very easy to drop someone like Shami’: Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey
India’s leading pacer Jasprit Bumrah’s return to team India has been incredibly productive for the team with the kind of performance he has been in. Bumrah’s performance has been remarkably effective in all the previous outings he has been up to now. But, Bumrah’s return has seen another powerful bowler Mohammed Shami out of the matches as India have preferred Bumrah and Siraj as the first-choice pacers while Pandya has been there to handle middle-order pace attack. Shami had played in India’s match against Nepal in the ongoing Asia Cup during Bumrah’s unavailability but he has been out of action since then. India’s performance in the Asia Cup has been quite good as they have stormed into the final of the tournament. Meanwhile, Indian bowling coach Paras Mhambrey has said that it is not easy to drop Shami.
“It’s not very easy to drop someone like shami. The experience that he has and the performance he has done for the country is phenomenal. It’s never easy to have that kind of a conversation,” Mhambrey said ahead of India’s match against Bangladesh on Friday.
Indian bowling coach also said that players have been apprised of the team’s decisions and they have shown confidence in management’s decisions.
“But we are very clear in the way we have gone about the conversation with the players and they have shown confidence in us. Players know any decision that we take and they know that it is for the benefit of the team,” stated Mhambrey.
