India beat Australia by five wickets in the first ODI match of the ongoing three-match series on Friday at Mohali to take 1-0 lead in the series. India's full-fledged performance from their batters played a key role in India's huge victory. Earlier, Put into bat, Australia set a total of (276) after losing all wickets in their (50) overs. Australia received good performances from David Warner (52) and Steve Smith (41) in the top order while Josh Inglis scored (45) runs to take the team to the total of (276). Australia were restricted to the rather low total after Mohammed Shami shone with the ball to return with his five-wicket haul. In their chase of the total, India started off on positive note with Ruturaj Gaikwad (71) and Shubham Gill (74) giving the team a brilliant start. Down the order, half-centuries from KL Rahul (58*) and Suryakumar Yadav (50) helped India beat Australia.
