Sri Lanka name their World Cup squad

Sri Lanka have named their 15-member squad for the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023 that is just less than a fortnight away from its start. ODI World Cup will get underway in India from October 5. Heading into the World Cup, Sri Lanka have been reeling from a big setback that has come in the form of Wanindu Hasaranga who has been ruled out of the World Cup due to a hamstring injury which he sustained during the Lanka Premier League. Dasun Shanaka will be leading Sri Lanka in the World Cup as Kusal Mendis will be his deputy. Talking about Sri Lanka’s squad, their batting attack comprises of Kusal Perera, Pathum Nissanka, Dimuth Karunaratne and Sadeera Samarawickrama. Their all-round attack has the likes of Dhananjaya de Silva, Dunith Wellalage and skipper Dasun Shanaka himself. Sri Lanka’s bowling attack consists of Kasun Rajitha, Lahiru Kumara and Dilshan Madushanka.
