Former Indian legend’s favourite pick to win the ODI World Cup 2023
The high-profile world event (ODI World Cup) 2023 is merely a week away as all teams are going through intense preparations to cement their chances of emerging victorious in the tournament. There are ten teams participating in the tournament but only one team will successfully be able to lift the title. ODI World Cup is being held in India and India are being touted as favourite to lift the title but former Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has different team in mind which will lift the title. Gavaskar feels that defending champions England will successfully be able to lift the title. England had won the ODI World Cup title in 2019 by beating New Zealand in the final. Gavaskar is of the view that England have got good batting line up and also good all-round attack.
“The defending champions, England, because of the kind of talent that they have, at the top of the order, the batting order, they’ve got two or three world-class all-rounders who can change the game with both bat and ball. They’ve also got a very good bowling line-up, an experienced bowling line-up, so at the moment in my book certainly,” Sunil Gavaskar stated on Star Sports.
England are being led by Jos Buttler as they are entering the World Cup with the full-strength squad. England will start their World Cup campaign with the match against New Zealand on October 5.
