Jofra Archer back to IPL auction
England fast bowler Jofra Archer has been added to the IPL auction list after initially being omitted from the shortlist list. Archer earlier didn’t feature among 574 names the IPL sent to the franchises.
Archer, who had been recovering from injuries and focusing on his fitness, recently made his comeback to international cricket ahead of the T20I World Cup. His return to the IPL auction signifies an important step for him to make his mark in the Indian Premier League. He last featured in the IPL in 2023 for Mumbai Indians.
Since May this year, Archer has regularly been playing for England in the white-ball format. He is also looking forward to making his return to Test cricket, having last featured in the longest format almost four years back. Archer, who has dealt with injury setbacks in recent years, including issues with his elbow, is gradually making his return to action. Meanwhile, the IPL auction will be held in Jeddah on November 24 and 25 and the franchises will be looking to acquire the services of Archer given his previous records.
