Mumbai Indians appoint Lasith Malinga as their bowling coach
Mumbai Indians have signed up Lasith Malinga as their bowling coach as he will be joining the Mumbai Indians for the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Malinga’s appointment is coming on the heels of Shane Bond’s departure as Mumbai Indians’ bowling coach. Lasith Malinga, former Sri Lankan bowler, is one of the vastly experienced cricketers and will join the Mumbai Indians for the IPL 2024. Mumbai Indians announced Malinga’s appointment as bowling coach by stating that Malinga will forge a strong partnership with head coach Mark Boucher and his former teammate Kieron Pollard in the dugout.
“Mumbai Indians have announced Lasith Malinga as Bowling Coach.The legend of Wankhede will join the Mumbai Indians coaching team led by Mark Boucher, and his former teammate, Kieron Pollard, forging a strong partnership in the dugout,” stated MI in a statement.
“I am looking forward to working closely with Mark, Polly, Rohit and the rest of the team, especially the bowling unit, whose approach I loved last season, and the young MI talent that has the potential to excel, backed by the passionate MI Paltan,” said Malinga.
