World Cup 2023: Pumped up India ready for Kiwi challenge
India are all set to face New Zealand in their World Cup semi-final game on Wednesday at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. This will be India’s chance after four years to make it through semi-final to advance into the final of the World Cup. In the 2019 World Cup semi-final, India were handed a defeat by the kiwis but it is a great time for India to play New Zealand in their own backyard as India are carrying a whole lot of advantage. India have come into the semi-final of the ongoing World Cup on the back of their nine victories from their last nine group stage games. Rohit led India have been the unbeaten side so far in the tournament as they would look forward to continuing with same temerity. Both teams had faced each other in their group stage match a few days back where India beat New Zealand by (4) wickets, so India will essentially like to carry on with same momentum and intensity. New Zealand, on the other hand, are entering the semi-final on the back of what they needed to get into the semi-final as they have five wins from their nine group stage matches. They too would be hoping to come out with new vigour and excitement to present a formidable challenge to India. In the ODI World Cup fixtures, both India and New Zealand have met on nine occasions where New Zealand have won five games while India have returned with four wins.
India Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj
New Zealand Probable XI: Devon Conway, Rachin Ravindra, Will Young, Daryl Mitchell, Tom Latham(wk), Kane Williamson, Glenn Phillips, Mitchell Santner, Matt Henry, Ish Sodhi, Trent Boult
