"Thank you for the unforgettable journey": Hardik Pandya's message to GT after returning to MI
Over the past two years, Hardik Pandya led Gujarat Titans after being released by Mumbai Indians in 2021, but Pandya has now returned to the franchise (MI) where his IPL career started. Hardik Pandya made an emphatic mark with his stark leadership and all-round abilities while being with GT. Pandya led Gujarat Titans to their maiden IPL title victory in 2022, and in 2023 they remained runner-up after being defeated in the final by Chennai Super Kings. After moving back to Mumbai Indians, Hardik Pandya thanked Gujarat Titans for the unforgettable journey. It was an all-cash deal when Hardik Pandya was traded in by Mumbai Indians.
“I want to extend my heartfelt gratitude to the fans, team, and management at Gujarat Titans. Being part of the team and leading it has been an absolute honour, and I am immensely thankful for the love and encouragement my family and I have received as a player and as an individual. The memories and experiences with GT will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for the unforgettable journey,” stated Hardik Pandya on social media.
Earlier, during his journey with Mumbai Indians between 2015-2021, Hardik Pandya had played 92 matches. In the last season of Indian Premier League (IPL), Mumbai Indians had finished fourth in the points table after being outplayed by Gujarat Titans in the qualifier 2.
