BAN vs NZ 1st Test, day 1 Lunch: Bangladesh lose early wickets but remain steady
The first Test match of the two-match series between Bangladesh and New Zealand got underway on Tuesday at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh decided to bat after winning the toss with two of their batters Zakir Hasan and Najmul Hossain Shanto losing their wickets after scoring (12) and (37) respectively. However, Mahmudul Hasan Joy remained strong with his solid innings of (42). Mominul Haq too is remaining solid from the other end. For New Zealand, Ajaz Patel and Glenn Phillips claimed one wicket each. Bangladesh are being led by stand-in skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto amid the unavailability from Shakib Al Hasan. Post lunch, Bangladesh would hope to amass more runs to keep New Zealand under pressure in home conditions. New Zealand have entered the game with their full throttle squad. At lunch, Bangladesh were 104/2 with Zakir Hasan and Mominul Haque unbeaten at the crease.
