Bangladesh batter Soumya Sarkar imploded legendary Sachin Tendulkar’s record by scoring the highest in the second ODI match against New Zealand on Wednesday at Saxton Oval. Soumya Sarkar scored (169) runs off (151) deliveries wherein he hammered (22) fours and (2) sixes to score this humongous knock. With this huge knock, Soumya Sarkar broke Sachin Tendulkar’s 14-year-old record of having the highest individual score in New Zealand by a sub continent batter. In 2009, Sachin Tendulkar scored (163) from (133) deliveries to create this massive record in Christchurch. Tendulkar’s knock included (16) fours and (5) sixes. Despite this huge knock, Bangladesh lost the game by (7) wickets as they had posted a total of (291) for New Zealand. New Zealand went past the total in (46.2) overs with Will Young and Henry Nicholls playing (89) and (95-run) knocks to take the team to the series-clinching victory.
