Chris Jordan scored his half-century off (17) balls in the ongoing Big Bash Lague tournament's match between Hobart Hurricanes and Perth Scorchers on Wednesday at Optus Stadium. This was the joint fourth-fastest half-century in the history of the Big Bash League. This was also the fastest ever fifty for Hobart Hurricanes. Meanwhile, Chris Gayle carries the record for the fastest half-century in the Big Bash League with his 12-ball fifty. Players to have hammered the fifty off (17) deliveries in the BBL are Ben Cutting and Nicholas Pooran who both scored their half-centuries off (17) balls. On the back of Jordan’s scintillating knock, Hobart Hurricanes were able to put up a good total of (172) in (20) overs after losing eight wickets, but they failed to win the game with Perth Scorchers’ Zak Crawley and Aaron Hardie scoring (65) and (86) unbeaten respectively to take the team over the line in (16.2) overs.
