In the India’s ongoing T20I series against Afghanistan, Yashasvi Jaiswal played an outstanding innings in the second T20I, displaying his incredible show with the bat. With the nervy and confident innings, Yashasvi Jaiswasl seems to be solidifying his position as a key player for India at the upcoming T20I World Cup in 2024.

Jaiswal had played a stellar innings with his score of 68 off 34 to lay the foundation for India’s victory after Rohit Sharma lost his wicket for a duck. The young Indian batter remained unfazed against Afghanistan’s bowlers, while smashing towering sixes. It is a huge boost for India ahead of the T20I World 2024. This is the only series India are playing ahead of the T20I World Cup that will help them strategise for the global event. After Yashasvi’s impressive knock against Afghanistan, former Indian cricketer Aakash Chopra has backed his inclusion for the T20I World Cup.

“Yashasvi is going. Again, the way he is batting. You will feel it would be unfair if you do not tae him. Sometimes you are undroppable, meaning he is selectable. That is why he is here, making runs. Now he has gone beyond (Shubman) Gill. But now you will not be able to touch him,” Aakash Chopra said on his YouTube Channel.

“You should not even try for it (not selecting Jaiswal) because you need something like this while batting. Otherwise, it will be the same as 2022; again and again, everything will be the same, the style of playing will be the same and only the year has changed,” said Chopra.
