Ind vs Afg 3rd T20I: Rohit eyes first runs with India eying massive finish

News

India have already secured their series-commanding win over Afghanistan in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan, but they have yet to witness a eye-popping knock from skipper Rohit Sharma who has already registered two golden ducks in the last two games. Rohit Sharma must be having intense pressure with two consecutive golden ducks in the ongoing three-match T20I series against Afghanistan.

Rohit Sharma’s first golden duck was something unexpected after being runout amid the confusion with Shubman Gill. But, in the second innings, Sharma didn’t get going, losing his wicket to Fazalhaq Farooqi. Rohit Sharma, an experienced campaigner in the white-ball cricket with his blazing outings, hasn’t found the flow in his batting in this series.

As India look to sweep the series, Rohit Sharma would hope to put challenging time facing the Afghan bowlers in the first two T20Is of the series behind and start with a big knock. The golden ducks, being registered by Rohit Sharma are a rare occurrence considering the calibre of his batsmanship.

Coming to the match, it is a dead-rubber for both teams with India having won the series with the wins in first two games. As it is, Afghanistan would be playing for pride after leading a successful campaign at the ODI World Cup 2023. Over the course of last two games, India have been led to victories by the collective performances from their players. Youngsters Shivam Dube and Yashasvi Jaiswal stepped up their attacks to dismantle Afghanistan. Kohli, returning to the action in T20Is after more than a year, showcased his brilliance with magnificent shots. The action in the third T20I is set to unfold at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday.
