Harry Brook withdraws from England’s India tour
England batter Harry Brook has pulled out of England's soon-to-start five match Test series against India due to personal reasons. England's five-match Test series against India will begin from 25th January with the first Test in Hyderabad.
Brook has been one of the continuing performers for England, and his absence will add extra pressure on England's batting lineup. England Cricket Board confirmed Brook's absence from the much awaited England’s Test series against India.
"Harry Brook is set to return home with immediate effect for personal reasons from the England Men's Test tour of India. The Brook family respectfully requests privacy during this time. In light of this, the ECB and the family kindly request the media and the public to respect their wish for privacy and refrain from intruding on their private space," the ECB said in a statement.
England, however, have called up Dan Lawrence as replacement for Harry Brooks. Lawrence was last seen in Test against West Indies in 2022.
