“Won’t be afraid to play all spinners”: Brandon McCullum ahead of the second Test against India

England’s bazball approach tactically turned out to be a real game changer for them in the first Test match against India after they won the first game by 28 runs to take 1-0 lead in the five-match series. England, despite suffering setbacks at regular intervals, managed to flatten India in the first game, starting off their India tour on a great note.
Notable performances for England came from Ollie Pope and Tom Hartley, who both became the raging force for England to empower them to take a series-leading 1-0 win. Tom Hartley returned with seven wickets to stop India’s chase of 231 which England managed to put out with the most exceptional knock of 196 pulled off by Ollie Pope. Heading into the second game, England head coach Brandon McCullum is disposed to field all out spin attack depending on the track.
“Bash (Bashir) comes into calculations for the next Test match. If the wickets continue to spin as much as what we saw in the first Test as the series goes on, look, we won’t be afraid to play all sinners or a balance of what we’ve got,” McCullum told SENZ Radio.
Tom Harley, playing his maiden Test, made a big impact with nine scalps he took across both innings in the first match. Ben Stokes’s leadership remained instrumental in utilising his spin bowlers to get the crucial breakthroughs for the team at major times.
