David Miller achieves a remarkable feat in T20Is
South African batter David Miller has achieved a tremendous record in his T20I career, having notched up 10,000 runs in the shortest format of the game. David Miller achieved this feat during his team Paarl Royals’ game against Joburg Super Kings on Wednesday at The Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. However, Miller’s team lost the game, failing to qualify for the Eliminator of the tournament.
He became the first South African batter to claim this historical record. Miller has overtaken South African greats like AB de Villiers and Faf du Plessis to achieve this record. Earlier, David Miller was in line with de Villiers and du Plessis to have hammered 9000 runs in T20Is. Overall, Miller is the 12th batter to have scored ten thousand T20I runs.
The other batsmen from around the world to have accomplished this record are West Indies legend Chris Gayle (14562) runs, Pakistan’s Shoaib Malik (13077) runs, West Indies’ Kieron Pollard (12577) runs, England’s Alex Hales (12002) runs, India’s Virat Kohli (11994) runs, Australia’s David Warner (11860) runs, Australia’s Aaron Finch (11458) runs, India’s Rohit Sharma (11156) runs, England’s Jos Buttler (11146) runs, New Zealand’s Colin Munro (10602) runs and England’s James Vince (10019) runs.
