The Australian U19 team showcased exceptional talent and determination to secure the coveted title, marking their first victory over India in the final. This was Australia’s fourth U19 World Cup title victory as well.
Opting to bat, Australia put out a valuable total of (253/7) in (50) overs with Hugh Weibgen (48), Harjas Singh (55) and Oliver Peake (46), playing eye-catching knocks. Earlier, Harry Dixon gave the team a solid start with his much needed (42) runs. Players like Arshin Kulkarni (3), Uday Saharan (8), Sachin Das (9) and Priyanshu Moliya (9) faced a set of tough challenges from Australian bowlers, losing their wickets at regular intervals. For India, the top-scorer remained Adarsh Singh and Murugan Abhishek scoring (47) and (42) respectively.
Meanwhile, Australia's U19 bowlers demonstrated their bowling skills to keep India under pressure, delivering crucial breakthroughs at crucial junctures to bowl out India for (174) in (43.5) overs. .
