In a mouth-watering encounter at Seddon Park, New Zealand recorded an imposing victory over South Africa after defeating them by seven wickets in the 2nd Test match to complete a remarkable 2-0 series sweep. The warrior, leading New Zealand’s chase was Kane Williamson, notching up his 32nd Test century, which played a pivotal role in guiding his team to victory.

It is a historical victory for New Zealand as they had never beaten South Africa before in a Test series. This time around they got the best of the proteas, capitalising on their inexperienced lineup.

New Zealand asserted their dominance over novice South African contingent, putting in an excellent performance with both bat and ball to record a historical victory. Will O’Rourke remained outstanding on debut with the ball, sparking South Africa’s downfall with his 5-33 that restricted proteas to 235 in their second innings, giving New Zealand a modest total of 267 to chase. Overall, Will O’Rourke took nine wickets across both innings.

Facing a mammoth challenge, South Africa found themselves under immense pressure despite showing encouraging efforts. They failed to counter New Zealand’s top-quality bowling attack.

The Proteas faltered in both innings, with only average performances from their players. The New Zealand bowlers capitalized on their opponent's vulnerability, consistently picking up wickets at crucial junctures to maintain their dominance.
