Relentless Akash shines on debut, dedicates performance to his late father

Indian debutant Akash Deep snared three wickets to lead England’s top-order collapse on day one of the fourth Test match between India and England in Ranchi on Friday. England’s top batter crumbled facing the rock-solid spell from relentless Akash Deep who had received his Test cap from head coach Rahul Dravid.
Akash Deep etched his name in the annals of cricket with a scintillating debut performance in India's ongoing fourth Test match against England. With a spellbinding display of pace, accuracy, and guile, Akash Deep spearheaded India's bowling attack, sending shockwaves through the English batting lineup and firmly placing his team into the driver's seat. Brilliant with the new ball, Akash broke the flourishing partnership between Crawley and Duckett by dismissing the latter.
Due to overstepping, Akash Deep was denied his first Test wicket, but quick to ameliorate, he returned with three scalps of Ben Duckett, Zac Crawley and Ollie Pope. Following his beautiful outing, Akash Deep spoke of the process he went with on day one.
“I wasn’t nervous, had spoken with my coaches, so I wasn’t tense ahead of the game. I don’t know how it happened, but I used to take every game as my last game and tried my best,” Akash said.
Akash Deep had to make ends meet after losing his father and brother in the same year (2015), but his passion for cricket remained his top priority, leaving no stone unturned to achieve his goal. Akash Deep dedicated his performance to his father.
“I want to dedicate this performance to my father. He wanted his son to do something in his life but I couldn’t do anything while he was alive. So, I dedicate this performance to my father,” he said.
