WPL 2024: Smriti Mandhana & Alyssa Healy face off as Royals Challengers Women see UP Wrriorz

The Women's Premier League (WPL), which got underway from Friday with it 2nd edition, is gearing up for its second thrilling encounter between Royal Challengers Bangalore Women and UP Warriorz Women, scheduled to be played on Saturday at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. 

Royal Challengers Bangalore enter the tournament with a formidable lineup with the likes of Ellyse Perry, Sophie Devine and Richa Ghosh among others. Led by Smriti Mandhana, RCB bring a legacy of experience heading into their first match of the tournament. 

RCB would aim to kickstart their WPL campaign with a resounding victory. In the inaugural edition last year, they only won two games out of their eight fixtures, finishing on the fourth position in the points table. 

UP Warriorz, on the other hand, had a good season last year with four wins and four defeats from eight games, but failed to make it till the end. They finished on the third spot in the points table. Led by brilliant Alyssa Healy and boasting a squad brimming with talent, UP Warriorz pose a formidable challenge to their opponents.

With a point to prove and dreams of glory driving them forward, the Warriorz would hope to start their campaign on a winning note.
