PSL 2024: Lahore Qalandars’ misery continues, suffer fifth consecutive defeat

In a disappointing turn of events, Lahore Qalandars slumped to their fifth consecutive defeat in the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL) 2024 after their defeat against Peshawar Zalmi on Sunday at Gaddafi Stadium, further deepening their woes in the tournament. Their latest setback will serve as a distressing blow to their already dull campaign.
The match against Peshawar Zalmi was a crucial one for Lahore Qalandars, as they aimed to break their losing streak and regain momentum in the tournament. However, despite the efforts of Rassie van der Dussen, scoring 104 unbeaten, they fell eight runs short of victory.
Lahore Qalandars were chasing a total of 211, posted by Peshawar Zalmi after being asked to bat, but they got off to a shaky start with Fakhar Zaman and Sahibzada Farhan losing their wickets for (4) and (15) respectively. Rassie kept the team in the game till the last moment with his valiant efforts, meanwhile they could only put out (203) from (20) overs after losing (6) wickets.
Throughout the PSL 2024 season, Lahore Qalandars have struggled to find their rhythm, facing setbacks in both batting and bowling departments. Despite boasting a talented lineup and experienced players, they have failed to deliver consistent performances, leading to their downfall in crucial matches.
