Sherfane Rutherford leads Gladiators to victory over Karachi

In the 16th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL), Quetta Gladiators emerged victorious against Karachi Kings by securing a remarkable five-wicket win on Thursday at National Stadium in Karachi.
The standout performance for Gladiators from Sherfane Rutherford was undoubtedly the turning point for their victory. His blistering innings of (58) runs off just (31) deliveries proved to be the decisive factor in his team's triumph.
Put into bat, Karachi Kings put up an average total of 165/8 (20) as their batters like Shan Masood, Shoaib Malik and Kieron Pollard lost their wickets for the paltry of scores. But, the little scoring from James Vince (37) and Mohammad Nawaz (28) proved to be of some help, taking them to a fighting score.
However, the Gladiators' bowlers managed to contain the opposition's scoring rate and kept taking crucial wickets at regular intervals to restrict Karachi under par score.
Chasing the target, Gladiators got off to a good start with explosive batter Jason Roy scoring (52). In the middle-order, they suffered back-to-back blows with the wickets of Rilee Rossouw and Khawaja Nafay, but Rutherford took the team over the line. This was Quetta Gladiators’ fourth victory in the tournament as they sit at the second position in the points table.
