Pat Cummins named Sunrisers Hyderabad captain

In a massive decision, Pat Cummins has been named Sunrisers Hyderabad’s skipper for the upcoming season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Pat Cummins will be replacing Aiden Markram who captained the team at the IPL 2023. Pat Cummins was recently bought by Sunrisers Hyderabad for a whopping sum of INR 20 crore. 

Cummins’s vaunted record as skipper has been immense, having led Australia to the victory at ODI World Cup 2023. This will be Cummins’ first stint as the skipper in the the IPL. Before this, he has not led any team in the IPL. Cummins pulled out of the tournament last year to focus on international cricket, but returns with enormous experience under his belt.

During the last edition of the tournament, Sunrisers Hyderabad finished at the bottom in the points table with four victories from 14 games. It will be a new beginning for Sunrisers Hyderabad at the IPL under the leadership of Pat Cummins.
