Islamabad United thrashed Peshawar Zalmi by 29 runs in the 20th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League to emerge victorious in a thrilling encounter that was held on Tuesday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Led by skipper Shadab Khan, who himself propelled the side to a formidable total, Islamabad United displayed exceptional performance both with bat and ball.

Shadab Khan's standout contribution came in the form of an impressive 80-run knock, setting a formidable target of (197) for Peshawar Zalmi to chase. In their pursuit, Peshawar Zalmi failed to lay the foundation for their victory with openers Saim Ayub and Babar Azam throwing their wickets for (1) and (0) respectively. Aamir Jamel did some scoring with his impressive 87-run knock, but it failed to save them from suffering their defeat.

Shadab Khan claimed three wickets, while Rumman Raees and Hunain Shah returned with two wickets each to restrict Peshwar Zalmi for 167/9 in (20) overs.

Islamabad United sitting on the third place now have three victories from seven games. As the tournament progresses, Islamabad United will look to build on this momentum and maintain their winning streak. Peshawar Zalmi, on the other hand, slumped to the fourth spot, however they also have three victories.
