PSL 2024: Islamabad United move to second place with triumph over Karachi kings

In a massive boost, Islamabad United clinched a thrilling five-wicket victory against Karachi Kings in the 24th match of the ongoing Pakistan Super League on Thursday at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Islamabad United successfully battled it out against Karachi Kings to advance in the points table.
Put into bat, Karachi Kings failed to display commendable performances despite possessing a formidable lineup. They lost their wickets at regular intervals, failing to set a challenging total for Islamabad United. They had a little partnership from Tim Seifert (26) and James Vince (29) that bolstered them, puting up a modest total of 150/7 in (20) overs. Down the order, Kieron Pollard hammered (39) off (28) to propel the side. Islamabad’s Tymal Mills and Faheem Ashraf picked three and two wickets each to restrict Karachi for a low total.
However, Islamabad United, going past the notional target in (18.4) overs, proved their mettle. Chasing the target, they lost opener Colin Munro early, but Salman Ali Agha and Shadab Khan forged a match-winning 58-run partnership with their scores of (33) and (34) respectively to take the team across the line.
With the victory, Islamabad United have moved to the second spot in the points table as they look to consolidate their path to the playoffs.
