“The way he talks, the way he bats”: Yashasvi Jaiswal on Rohit Sharma
India’s superb batter Yashasvi Jaiswal was one of the batters who frustrated England bowlers to the crore with his spectacular innings during India’s recently completed five-match Test series against England. Jaiswal contributed to team’s success with match-winning knocks.
He finished the series with the humongous total of (712) runs involving two double hundreds and three half-centuries. As the opener, Yashasvi Jaiswal got united with Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, forging partnerships and getting the team off to great starts. Yashasvi Jaiswal had great support from Indian captain being his opening partner. Talking about playing alongside Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal had great words for Rohit Sharma.
"It's so good to have him there inside the dressing room. It has been great to play under him. There are a lot of moments which I don't want to disclose at the moment. Let it be with me. The way he backed players throughout this journey, the way he talks, the way he bats. Whatever happens, he will be there to stand by you. I think it's incredible to see that in your leader. I will keep learning from him," Jaiswal told The Indian Express.
Jaiswal, on the back of his stupendous performances in the Test series, was on Tuesday named the ‘ICC Player of The Month’ for February. The young batter also equalled the long-standing record for most sixes in a Test innings that he brought up during Rajkot Test with 12 sixes. In that match, he scored (214) runs in the second innings.
