BAN-W vs AUS-W 1st T20I: Both teams to see each other in the first-ever T20I series

Australia Women are gearing up to take on Bangladesh Women in the first T20I match of the three-match series, slated to be played on Sunday at Shere Bangla National Stadium, Dhaka.
This encounter comes on the heels of a thrilling three-match ODI series where Australia Women asserted their dominance by clean sweeping all games. This will be the first-ever T20I series that both Australia and Bangladesh will be playing.
The stage is set for an electrifying showdown after Australia completed a series sweep in the three-match ODI series. Displaying exceptional batting, bowling, and fielding skills, Australia won the first game by 118 runs, second by six wickets and third by eight wickets respectively.
Led by their experienced skipper Alyssa Healy, they demonstrated remarkable consistency and composure, leaving little room for their opponents to challenge their dominance.
Bangladesh Women, on the other hand, were met with a tough challenge. Though, they have shown glimpses of potential and resilience as they have the opportunity to regroup and come back stronger in T20Is. With a talented lineup of players, Bangladesh Women possess the capability to spring surprises and pose a threat to their counterparts.
Looking at their recent T20I performances, Australia played a three-match T20I series against South Africa in January where they won it by 2-1, suffering a defeat in the second match. Bangladesh also played a three-match T20I series against South Africa in December 2023 that was levelled 1-1 after Bangladesh won the opening game and South Africa third. Meanwhile, second game had been washed out due to rain.
