LSG’s young pace ace Mayank Yadav doubtful for upcoming games
Lucknow Super Giants’ pace sensation Mayank Yadav will likely be missing the upcoming fixtures of the team as he is slated to manage his workload, having been suffering from abdominal soreness. Young Mayank Yadav has impressed everyone in the cricketing fraternity across the world with his swashbuckling speed.
Mayank Yadav made his IPL debut for Lucknow Super Giants against Punjab Kings and startled everyone with his terrific spell, clocking the fastest delivery of IPL 2024 at 156.7 km/h. The franchise provided an update on Yadav as he is slated to manage his workload.
"Mayank felt soreness in lower abdominal area and as a precaution we are managing his work load over next week. We hope to see him soon in the field,” Lucknow Super Giants’ CEO Vonid Bisht said on Monday.
In LSG’s last match against Gujarat Titans, Mayank Yadav was off the field and was taken for scans. LSG allrounder Krunal Pandya after the match had given an update on Mayank Yadav.
"I don't know what is happening but I did have a brief couple of seconds' chat [with him] - he seemed okay, which was quite a relief for us," Krunal said.
"A bright prospect, I'd been watching him from last two years. He used to [be a] gun in the nets. Last year, unfortunately, missed it [due to injury]. But again, whatever conversation I have had, what I see is that he has a good head on his shoulders as well," he said.
Currently, Lucknow Super Giants are sitting on the third position in the points table with three victories in their last four games. Their latest victory was against Gujarat Titans where they recorded their 33-run win.
