“It’s just amazing”: Jake Fraser-McGurk on making his IPL debut

Delhi Capitals' Young player Jake Fraser-McGurk rose to the occasion, pouncing on the landed opportunity to play a superbly beautiful knock, making his incredibly powerful IPL debut. His splendid innings included five spectacular sixes as he successfully managed to make huge use of the opportunity.
Since the start of the tournament, Jake Fraser-McGurk had been warming the benches, but his role, hammering 55 off 35, made a stark difference in DC’s comprehensive win. Jake's batting prowess remained quite impressive. He has proved his ability to play both attacking and composed innings, emerging as a valuable asset for Delhi Capitals. Jake was stoked on playing his first IPL game.
“I’ve spent the last five, six games on the sidelines just watching it and itching to get out there. So just to get out there and have my first game, I’m stoked," Jake said while speaking to the broadcaster.
Speaking on his approach, Jake stated he was reacting to the ball, not trying too hard in order not to lose the shape. It was a different experience for Jake at IPL.
“I tried not to swing too hard, not lose my shape and tried to find the middle of the bat and just reacted . That’s what I’ve been doing the last 12 months - why change it,” he said.
“I’m so happy to be here. It’s just a different world here in terms of cricket. Never seen anything like it, heard a lot about it, but never experienced at first hand. It’s just amazing time in India," Jake added further.
