Ahead of the T20I World Cup 2024, Indian management finds itself at a crossroads, with the abundance of talent vying for the wicketkeeper slot. With several talented players in contention, Indian selectors are tasked with the challenging decision of identifying the perfect player to don the gloves for the team.

India are having incredibly talented players such as Sanju Samson, KL Rahul, Rishabh Pant and Jitesh Sharma vying for the spot. The latest player to stake his claim is veteran Dinesh Karthik, who has had fruitful outings in the ongoing Indian Premier League for Royal Challengers Bengaluru. He has produced blistering knocks in the last few games.

Indian skipper Rohit Sharma, who will be leading India at the T20I World Cup, recently spoke about Dinesh Karthik’s thrilling performance.

"I was quite impressed, especially with Dinesh (Karthik). The way he batted a couple of nights back (vs SRH). Dhoni as well. He came to play four balls against us and made a huge impact with those 20 runs. Eventually, it made a difference in the end," Rohit said on Club Prairie Fire podcast.

"It'll be hard to convince MS Dhoni for the World Cup. He is sick and tired. He is coming to US though. He is into golf now so he'll be playing that in the US. DK will be easy to convince," he added.
