IPL 2024: Ice-cool SRH go against luckless RCB

News

The upcoming clash in the ongoing Indian Premier League will see Royal Challengers Bengaluru fight against ferocious Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 41st match of the tournament on Thursday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad. Both teams will enter the game on the back of contrasting results.

RCB find themselves in a precarious position, languishing at the bottom in the points table with one victory in their last eight games. They are desperately in need of a win, having suffered six consecutive losses in the tournament, to revive their campaign. Despite having a star-studded lineup including the likes of Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis and Cameron Green, RCB have struggled to find their rhythm.

Their lack of consistency in both batting and bowling departments have plagued their campaign. They don’t have much of a chance to make it to the play-offs.

On the flip side, SRH have done really well, keeping their chances for playoffs fully alive, and sitting on the third spot in the points table with five victories out of seven games. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma have been impressive, having had belligerent outings with the bat to help the side register historic victories.

The team has managed to string together some impressive performances, and they will look forward to continuing their upward trajectory and put down RCB.

Both teams last faced each other in the 30th match of the tournament, but it was a forgettable outing for RCB, after Travis Head unleashed his carnage, blasting 102, and powering SRH to a record IPL total of 287.

SRH Probable XI: Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Aiden Markram, Heinrich Klaasen (wk), Nitish Reddy, Shahbaz Ahmed, Abdul Samad, Pat Cummins (c), Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, T Natarajan (Imp - Jaydev Unadkat)

RCB Probable XI: Faf du Plessis (c), Virat Kohli, Will Jacks, Rajat Patidar, Cameron Green, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik (WK), Karn Sharma, Alzarri Joseph, Yash Dayal, Mohammed Siraj ( Imp - Anuj Rawat)
