Despite showing tremendous consistency in the ongoing Indian Premier League, one of the most talented batsmen Virat Kohli continues to receive criticism about his strike rate, and the contentious issue continues to linger. Kohli has been coming up with swashbuckling performances, still he finds himself subjected to criticism with regards to his strike rate.

On Thursday, Indian chief selector Ajit Agarkar was questioned about Kohli’s strike rate, to which Agarkar replied that there're no concers as to how it is going in the IPL. Virat Kohli is the second highest run-getter in the IPL, having produced 500 runs in last ten games.

"I don't think we've been discussing it. Look, he has been in great form fortunately in the IPL, so there are no concerns at all with regards to how it's going in the IPL. You’re still going to the World Cup," said Agarkar.

Agarkar also underlined the importance of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli’s experience going into the high-profile World Cup.

"I mean we've obviously got some reinforcements. That's the whole thing, but you want some experience in your team. I mean these guys  have been around because they've been good enough to be around. That's the reason they played. They have played multiple World Cups,” he said.
