Australia become No.1 Test side, topple India
Reigning ICC World Test Champions Australia have raced to the top spot on the ICC Men’s latest Test Team Rankings, overtaking India. Australia got to the first spot on the back of their victory against India in the World Test Championship final at The Oval last year. Australia are now on the top with 124 points, with India closely following on second spot with 120 points.
England and South Africa are on the third and fourth spot with (105) and (103) points respectively. Despite India losing their top position to Australia in Test rankings, they continue to hold the top spot in ODIs and T20Is. In ODI rankings, India are ahead of Australia, having 122 points in contrast to Australia’s 116. In T20I rankings, India remain ahead with 264 points against Australia’s 257.
Barring this change, there has been no other change in Test Team Rankings, with South Africa (103), New Zealand (96), Pakistan (89), Sri Lanka (83), West Indies (82) and Bangladesh (53) remaining intact in their places between fourth and ninth.
