IPL 2024, GT vs CSK: Firm CSK look to lock in playoffs chances
Gujarat Titans will be hosting Chennai Super Kings in the 59th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League on Friday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. CSK are running out of time to secure their playoffs chances, with this match being the must-win battle for them. In order to strengthen their potential chances for playoffs, CSK will need to thump GT, who are standing no chance to make their way to the playoffs.
Chennai Super Kings, who are known to display consistency and firm determination, find themselves facing a different challenge this season, having lost five games in their last 11 encounters. CSK’s bowling unit also finds itself in a challenging situation, with Mustafizur Rahman and Matheesha Pathirana not being available for the side.
Veteran all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has been the mainstay for CSK with his charismatic bowling, ripping through PBKS’s strong batting attack in CSK’s last game where they won by 28 runs. Fresh off a win, CSK will hope to continue with the same rhythm. For GT, there will be no impact whether they win or lose, however, they will look to spoil CSK's chances for the playoffs. They don’t have anything to lose, hence they will look to play freely.
