KKR aim to snap top-two finish as GT remain encumbered
The 63rd match of the ongoing Indian Premier League is set to dish out a pulsating clash when Kolkata Knight Riders come against Gujarat Titans on Monday at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Last time when both teams clashed at this venue KKR had been powered to a remarkable win by Rinku Singh, blasting five sixes off final five deliveries. But, now, times have changed and game has grown to be more competitive, making this contest an exciting one.
For Kolkata Knight Riders, things are pretty clear as they look to secure a spot in the top-two to make their direct qualification into the final. Meanwhile, they became the first team to seal their playoff berth after their victory against Mumbai Indians. This match will be crucial for KKR to collect two points and solidify their chances for top-two finish.
On the opposite side, Gujarat Titans enter this showdown with their backs against the wall as their playoff aspirations hang in balance. Inconsistency and timely implementation have been the biggest reason for their downturn. GT find themselves in a do-or-die situation, where a win can, in principle, revive their chances for playoffs. GT will look to their star performers to deliver standout performances to bring back hopes for playoffs.
