Bangladesh name T20 WC squad, Shanto to lead

Bangladesh have added Taskin Ahmed to their squad for the upcoming T20I World Cup 2024 to be held in West Indies and USA from June 1st. Taskin is making a recovery from a side strain suffered during Bangladesh’s recent five-match T20I series against Zimbabwe. 

Taskin will be looking to make a quick recovery in the lead up the T20I World Cup. He has also been named the vice captain of the team. Bangladesh had a massive success against Zimbabwe, beating them by 4-1. Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s World Cup squad will be led by Najmul Hossain Shanto

Other powerful players in the squad are veteran Shakib Al Hasan, Litton Das and Mustafizur Rahman. Batter Mahmudullah has also made the cut in Bangladesh’s 15-member squad. Bangladesh will kick off their WC campaign with the game against Sri Lanka on June 7.
